GOLF OUTING RAISES $10,000 TO BENEFIT SPECIAL NEEDS FAMILIES

Sayville, NY — Island Hills Golf and Country Club was the site of the first annual Spectrum of Dreams Golf Outing. The event, which included 75 members of the community, raised over $10,000 to benefit financially challenged special needs children and families living on Long Island.
“This was a great start and a truly wonderful event,” said Mike Furey, Spectrum of Dreams board member. “To have such a tremendous outpouring of support is going top pay tre mendous dividends for the community.”
The mission of Spectrum of Dreams is to help special needs children living on Long Island who may require financial resources by providing support that enhances their life skills, education and quality of life.
THREE SACHEM STUDENTS BENEFIT FROM IPAD DONATIONS

Ronkonkoma, NY — The Spectrum of Dreams Foundation announced the donation of three 64G Ipads to three special needs students and families at the Sachem North High School in the Sachem Central School District. The ipads will be used specifically to enhance the educational abilities through various apps available to the students.
“Ipads are playing a critical role in helping bridge the learning gap for the students who need and deserve it,” said Tim Szlosek, President of Spectrum of Dreams. “Through the tremendous effort of our board members and the support of the community we are thrilled to be able to provide these resources.”

NORTH BABYLON HIGH SCHOOL CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER BENEFITS FROM SOD DONATIONS

North Babylon, NY — The North Babylon High School Career Development Program recently benefitted from the donation of a brand-new stove and copier courtesy of the Spectrum of Dreams Foundation. The Career Development Program is designed to enhance and develop lifeskills of special needs students at the school.
“The kids were thrilled by the donations and we are more than happy to do what we can to enhance their lives,” said Tricia Szlosek, Vice President of the Spectrum of Dreams Foundation. “It was thrilling to see their faces when the stove and copier were delivered.”

SOD PROVIDES THERAPEUTIC HORSEBACK RIDING LESSONS TO FOUR FAMILIES

Middle Island, NY — The Spectrum of Dreams Foundation has provided four special needs children with 10 therapeutic horseback riding lessons at the Saddle Rock Ranch in Middle Island. The lessone are designed to help special needs children develop coping, communication and emotional skills.
“The fundraising efforts of the board and the community have provided a tremendous opportunity for families that could not otherwise afford to do this,” said Tim Szlosek, President of Spectrum of Dreams.
